A unique and powerful method to bring about lasting positive change. Developed in the 1950's by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, this method is designed to improve the relationship of the structure of the human body to gravity. That translates to feeling lighter, freer, younger, graceful, more open and more alive. Chronic pain and discomfort can be replaced by a continual sense of greater resilience and ease. A general sense of restriction and constriction can be replaced with an ease of breath never experienced before. The secret is in how we relate to gravity. The key is the Structural Integration process.
There are three main reasons that compel people to seek out the Structural Integration process. The first, and most common, is found in those that are trying to get out of chronic pain (often low back pain), have suffered for too long and now seek a lasting change. The second is the drive to improve and find better and more efficient ways of being. Things aren't all that bad for these people but they are always seeking the next level and more optimal way of being. The last are those that seek to know it simply out of curiosity and the desire to experience the unknown. I have worked with clients from age 4 to 94.
The primary approach to organizing the structure of the body in relation to gravity is done through a ten session process, or the ten-series. Over the course of ten sessions, usually spaced one week apart, the whole structure is systematically addressed. Disorder is replaced by order, old injuries can be resolved, and the underlying pattern that we move through our day with is fundamentally improved.
